    Okay Yeah

This is a lot of actionable advice, I’m going to try to apply it gradually. The first one says:

    1) View sunlight by going outside within 30-60 minutes of waking. Do that again in the late afternoon, prior to sunset.

I’m trying to figure out how I would do this consistently, like what my morning routine would be

Word. For me in the winter it means getting up at 6 (before sunrise), doing some light exercise to warm up and then going out into the cold to watch the sunrise. Then scurrying back inside to warm up again. It's f***in 18 degrees out this morning, but hey cold exposure is also beneficial for the mind and body so in a way it's a two birds one stone thing.

I’m addicted to sleep and I personally don’t get enough of it no matter how much I sleep.

I try to get 8 hours in a night. Usually I get 7. Worst case 6. And then a nap 1-2 hours most days on top of that

    Okay Yeah

I don’t think 4-5h is healthy in the long term

It’s fine once you get used to it. Long term is irrelevant. As long as you stay active, eat healthy, stimulate your brain, you’re gonna be fine. Sleep when you’re tired of course but I’ve just conditioned to the point where I don’t get tired until I’ve been up for almost 20 hours.

Most important thing is hours of productivity not what time you wake up. People are obsessed with waking up 6 and 7 am when there’s no real benefit to it. As long as you’re able to get your ass out of bed within 5 minutes of waking up and you have a nice, long, productive day, it doesn’t matter what time you wake up.

been perfecting my sleep schedule since high school. staying up until 2 to 3 am and waking up at 7 for school. I'm now able to operate perfectly on 4 or 5 hours of sleep for the majority of the week

I'll take a day to get a good 8-10 hours in every now and then but I've significantly reduced the amount of time I spend wasting on sleep. feels great and I'm way more productive

the best schedule there is is sleeping at 7 am and waking up at 12 pm

Cut screen use for at least an hour before bed time. Never lay on bed for any reason other than sleep (or sex). Don’t consume caffeine past 12:00PM. Wake up at a specific time so your body is acclimated to fall asleep at a specific time as well. Even on days off I wake up at 8. If you find yourself laying in bed unable to sleep for an hour+, get up, go to another room and do something for a couple minutes, i usually just go to the kitchen and drink half a glass of milk. I still don’t have the best sleep, but it’s gotten significantly better since I started doing these.

as with everything in life make a conscious decision to do it and eventually your body will follow through with it. nights when i'm not out partying or whatever my body just knows to go to sleep at 12 and get up at 6

Studies show the exact opposite of what you said to be the case. Strict falling and wake up schedule, following the sunrise and sunset as reasonably as possible, and 7-8 hours are cemented facts of ideal sleep.

Unless of course you could potentially just be one of the very few people who don’t need sleep as much as other people, and can get by with far fewer hours, which sounds like it may be the case given what you say, in which case good for you But for the vast majority of people this will not be the case unfortunately.

A lot of studies on poor sleeping habits fail to account for other variables tho.

Typically someone who is only sleeping 4-6 hours a day is leading an unhealthy lifestyle in many other ways in addition to that. All of those unhealthy habits coming together are what brings them crashing down.

I personally have a very healthy lifestyle. I’ve been straight edge my entire life, exercise daily, don’t eat garbage, and have a ton of energy throughout the day. I sleep 5 hours a day on average and I never once needed coffee or an energy drink to keep me going. It’s all about discipline and training your body to be behave the way you want.
