oh no, they def do. the main difference is it's just their own specific story + soundtrack. i think the differences are significant enough to pick up the other one assuming you like the games, since 3 & 5 in general are just completely different games in general (story, characters, music, etc.).

quite a few songs as well. really made me appreciate kh melody of memory a lot more as a rhythm game, especally when you compare it to these persona ones

yeah, i think so. definitely have more of an attachment to the p5 cast, so that helps. combat was solid, music is honestly as good as royal's somehow, story was decent for a spinoff. was just really nice to see those characters again

the repeated playthroughs on nier were getting pretty annoying to me tbh

Damn now I really have to replay it and I didn't even get to the replaying part on Nier, but can't stand those side quests

i don't think the replay part would've been too bad if they added more stuff past the second one, but it's just running through that 3, potentially 4 times (If you don't make an extra save), of doing the SAME thing over again. like, it's a great game, but thinking back about that makes me not like it as much as i did prior to completing it.

as for side quests, i just did the 30 to get the trophy (+ whatever ones give weapons) and stopped. i'm sure i might've missed a couple that help with worldbuilding, but i'm not putting myself through that.

my friend finished it up yesterday and he did all of them

Those have all amazing soundtracks but imo Persona is one notch above those, hands down the best music in a game franchise, like shoji be doing this s*** consistently

SMT/Persona soundtracks are incredible and not just by video game standards tbh

But Final Fantasy reigns supreme in that department

Imo SMT/Persona/Atlus in general takes it, FF is a close second though the soundtracks just aren’t as consistent as Persona. You’ve got some of the best video game music ever created and then the other half is mediocre. FF music when it’s good is amazing though. Zelda up there too
