Finally playing through shield, I actually like the game a lot, but i have two weird complaints

1. Why TF is hop, Leon and sonia with you every step of the way, it’s hella annoying. In the older games it made sense to run into your rival here and there, but hop is literally with you at every turn. And why is the champion always showing up, it’s just a weird story choice

2. Why do they heal you so much, it’s like every new area some random person heals you , I liked the older challenge of having to be prepared , this game does a lot of hand holding

Other than that I like it tho, those two small things bother me lol

I didn't appreciate this game like I should have in 2012 because the story wasn't as strong as the one from BW1. When I went back and played it in 2018, I realized how feature rich it was. BW1 was already full of hella features and this one just added on even more.

The decision to let you catch some of the more popular older Pokemon makes this one a little more fun too. Sure, only being able to catch Unova Pokemon is quaint the first time but sometimes you really just want to go with some of your favorites from your youth.

Shame it was all downhill from there save for Sun and Moon (which was really saved by it's story) and Let's Go (which I liked for being something fresh).

We were really grateful to get this game.
