Man, I'm not going lie this doesn't look good lol. I saw this earlier and I just was like people be reaching. Man look at some of those riding animations lol it was a article written up on this and everything from one of those clickbait sites.
its amateur, its rough around the edges
whereas the official games are also wayyy rough around the edges, whilst being financed by the highest grossing franchise of all time
if one dude can make it look on par or hell, that little bit better than what their whole team can crank out in a year, it says a lot
id take this over ps1 ass bdsp any day

The Remakes are made by a team that has never worked on a game of this magnitude. ILCA has mostly made cutscenes for games. They never was a lead Dev team on a AAA game. These games aren't made by Game Freak. The games doesn't even look bad people just upset it's not in full 3D. I don't think that fan made trailer looks anywhere as good as the official.
If they touch up the chibis and in battle trainer models from the build that was put together in December. It'll look fine. The overworked already looks gorgeous.

!https://youtu.be/1pDI8Scph44it makes u think, why wouldnt they license the franchise to more experienced devs who can make industry standard games?
why does it have to be a team that's never developed a game like this before?
because they'll make tons of money regardless, they know the players will settle for less
i dont think the style looks bad for what it is, but it's an alarming regression for such a big and high grossing franchise
this is what id expect to look 'gorgeous' on the 3ds in 2012, not rn on the switch. look at links awakening or hell even animal crossing
im doubtful theyll touch it up after sw/sh
i wanna be optimistic and ive no doubt itll be fun but it feels like being thrown a half assed bone for my wallet
which is why im blown away at this one dude's passion project
&how much closer it looks to the kind of game ive wanted pokemon to innovate towards for years

It was outsourced a company that's very known in Japan. They just wanted to get into full development of console games. ILCA does a damn good job on models. They just never made a full on game before. The build we got was very early stuff from late November/Early December.
Imo it's not a regression. It's becoming more and more obvious that GF just can't get 3D right. So why not take a page out of Nintendo book with what they did with Links awakening and make a 1:1 remake of DPP. I'm honestly not a fan of Gen 8 artstyle and it's already apparent that GF had no interest in connecting Sinnoh and Galar. So why not just do something different.

One f***ing guy made it lol. Imagine if you were this critical about Game Freak... They showed off Legends and had Pokemon animations literally skipping frames.
Still not over how awful the DP remakes look. Jesus Christ.

Agreed the remakes look terrible, ORAS looks much better and that game is 7 years old lmfao. DP deserved wayy better

I am this critical of game freak, actually I'm worst than this on Game Freak. You must be new in here lol. I didn't think that fan trailer look good at all. I don't think half the Gen 4 fan trailers look good. Me saying that doesn't mean I think Game Freak is good at doing animations. But that people are overreacting and trippin by saying it looks better than anything GF put out.
But I also don't have an issue with BDSP. GF isn't even making the remake games and I understand why the game isn't in full 3D. It's hilarious people keep bringing GF up when ILCA is making the remakes and they're taking their own approach to it. They also have never worked on a full console game by themselves.
I don't think remakes need to be in full 3D regardless. Remakes have always and forever been cash grabs. Only remake to actually be made with love is HGSS.

ORAS wasn't made by amateurs. ORAS was made before GF split into two teams.
DP doesnt look that bad though
for a 1:1 what did anyone expect?
i just expected cell chading or a more pastel color palette and some depth of field effects

To be fair the trailers we got for BDSP and Legends were very early builds. One from late November and the other in early December. Not everything needs to be in full 3D and the way Nintendo has been going with Remakes BDSP falls right in line with doing 1:1 remakes with a spin. This also makes sense seeing as GF now works inside Nintendo's complex.
Edit:isellpixels himself can tell people how I s*** on Legends when everyone was in here saying it looks great lol

bro me and u been at it for like 2 years
im a firm believer in enjoying s*** as it is versus nothing at all and i play comp (not so much lately), so i enjoyed Sw/Sh but as u said many times they are FARRR from 2020 video game standards and even far from Nintendo standards tbh with ACNH and Links Awakening looking like food i could eat
but ya @Ultima is the main one itt that will say GF needs to catch up and i agree completely
ill be playing BDSP but Legends is iffy still and for me to spend $90 CAD after 2021 the games need to be worth it because we all know 2022 is bringing a ton of next gen games to Sony and Microsoft platforms
Pokemon Unbound still the best ROM with an original story and solid lineup of Pokemon

Oh yeah I keep forgetting you're Canadian. That $91 is yikes. Remember we was in here trying to tell people to not get excited about Legends because we don't know anything about it. Like it's a open world game that looks empty as hell. I'm giving them the benefit of doubt because it was an early build of the game.
BDSP only gets a pass because I feel like it's going to be 1:1, but with a lot of experimenting going on since that's ILCA first game.

what if they were showing us that the world was built and the lore is written but characters, pokemon and actual story aren't ready
what if they didnt actually want to show us Legends but the money side of TPC were pushing for it knowing there's nothing after BDSP drops
idk but i think we will see more from Legends in a September or October direct or Pokemon Presents
if GF made the best Pokemon game that we all want they could sell 50 million instead of 20-30 and even if the extra work is a risk for them they can guarantee 20 million sales for sure so theres no need for them to be so cautious

I honestly think Legends is going to get pushed back to holiday 2022. I don't believe it's coming out that early. GF about to learn games like that can't be made within 3 years.

i was just telling my Poke Superfan friend this lol they only showed that trailer for investors and general public hype and it was an older trailer too probably wasn't actually meant to go public but they said ah f*** it we need something for now
even late September, early October 2022 or early 2023 would be a good guess

It's no way in hell that game comes out early next year. That trailer we got is of a build from December 2020. If they only that far at the end of 2020. They're in trouble, they still have to implement NPCs, make the world look more exciting, tune up the battle system, because currently it just looks like turn based battles with ATB bars, quests, fix the framerates, etc. The game needs work, it's definitely getting pushed to holiday 2022 or 2023

That horrid decision making to have ILCA remake some of the most beloved games in the franchise is the exact s*** I'm talking about... TPC is plagued by horrid decision making.
I never said GF is making the remakes. I said the game GF IS making, Legends, also looks f***ing horrendous.
That early build s*** doesn't fly when the remakes are dropping THIS year. If you expect drastic improvement you're not thinking in reality quite frankly.

you clearly don't know how Pokemon development is. The games are always developed within 3 years. Each stage always take a year. Pokemon games aren't made like other AAA games and majority of Pokemon games are already outsourced. It's been outsourced ever since X/Y. Game Freak doesn't make its own 3D models. What Game Freak does and isn't good at is programming said models. The trailers we got was very early stage. I can't speak on Legends because Legends looked like s***. But BDSP will probably have some major model improvements from November of last year to June 2021. If you don't believe me, just look at the Pokemon betas that were released. Gen 2 was worked on from 96 to 99. Models, sprites, and entire areas were either removed, changed, or updated just 2 months before release. In the June 1999 build Larvitar was a Green blob with eyes and Pupitar didn't even exist. The same can be said about Gen 3-8. Hell look at the SW/SH beta, it's full character models that were changed a month before launch.
TPCi doesn't have anything to do with game decisions. TPCi deals with merchandising and international branding of Pokemon. Game Freak still runs its own game company.
ILCA isn't some unknown company, they just never worked on a full title by itself. Usually they're assisting another company. They helped work on quite a few well known RPG and Japanese AAA games, but mostly worked on cut scenes for those games alone. Gen 4 remakes are fine design wise. Games that aren't made by the actual GF developers usually turn out nice. Masuda is still on board and helping with game design. Let's Go, while hated was made by Masuda and his team and it looks gorgeous compared to SW/SH. It had life, it had cut scenes where people actually moved and not turn in 180 degree.
Not everything needs to be in a fully 3D world. If I had the choice of a 1:1 remake of my favorite generation or it being in SW/SH style I'll take the 1:1 direction. SW/SH style was boring. In-General 3D Pokemon games haven't been good compared to it's 2D counterparts. They're either half assed or souless.

Doing a Black 2 Ironmon challenge and this is INSANELY hard. Done like 20 or so attempts and only two have made it somewhat far. One made it to 3rd gym city and one made it to 4th gym city. One got boped by the 2nd gym leaders Others have been failures.
This is hard. I’m determined to beat it though!

Had an attempt make it to the 6th gym city and both my main moms got one shot by Sucker Punch 😢
I’ve done 62 attempts now, only 5 have made it past the first gym leader. Ironmon is hard!
