Came across this video done by Adam Nayman (film critic) and found it pretty interesting. What are you guys thoughts on Ridley Scott as a filmmaker? do you think he's reached "auteur" status?
Filmography: letterboxd.com/director/ridley-scott/by/release
I don't care much for Ridley the person but he made Blade Runner, Alien, Thelma & Louise, Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven (director's cut). He's cemented off that alone
everything after black hawk down is hackified before that it’s a pretty freaking astounding filmog
anyone needlessly going back to the well of their 30 year old hit film is hackified to me, if Heat 2 isn’t markably better than the first I’ll give Mann the same treatment much as it pains me

like American Gangster & Martian depending on my mood maybe, but neither move me really concerning this particular debate lol
Like I'm all for s***ting on Ridley Scott as a person, but going at him as a director is pretty wild forreal that filmography is solidified knock it off lol
