    WESLEY PRESELY

Not gonna use Don Toliver as an example because Life Of A Don is a good album.

also isnt Tyler from LA? Why isnt he in these conversations

You need to drop consistently when youre still on the come up. Once you get to the top, your projects will have to hold more weight so you can take your time because you're more established.

Travis dropped every year from 2013-2018, now he doesn't have to drop every year anymore because he's established. Roddy disappeared for too long

also isnt Tyler from LA? Why isnt he in these conversations

he is but tbh his overall brand since he came out never screamed “WEST COAST”

his music way more digestible to the rest of countrys palette compared 2 the other rappers that came from LA

  • Feb 18, 2022

Album was coo.. just cuz dude don't have a viral-tiktok-meme hit, doesnt mean he fell off.. People weird af

these artists act like they're Drake whilst putting in 1/10th of the work he did, s***s weird

Niggas act like Drake put 2 albums a year since he came out or something.

    He’s from Hawthorne.
But also, Tyler always never really represented the Los Angeles culture. This other artist base their whole aesthetic around LA subcultures

It’s crazy how short the culture‘a attention span is now. Dude had a megahit like two years ago and a killer verse on a Kanye album a few months ago, along with several other big features.

How the f*** has he fallen off?

  • Maybe he just a good to decent artist and not a superstar level artist that all it may be.

Not everyone is a superstar and that’s okay

    aint roddy from CALI

nobody from cali f***s with this nigga

everybody from ATL f*** with carti and thug

roddy just not cool. copy n paste type of rapper

this is the key, all rappers that can take breaks like this all have their home market and region on LOCK or have a cult fan base. all of LAs major artists have this problem but Kendrick. Drakeo and Nip (RIP to both of these legends 🙏🏾) both were way hotter in LA without even having a mega hit like the box and that reflects in their numbers, engagement, and reception.

This is already a bad look

He’s playing into the critics and the memes hands

    It’s a wrap

    Same thing uzi did…

Boy you aint no Nipsey fan why you lyin

But yeah besides Nipsey core no one was really bumpin that til he died. Racks in the Middle I felt was making waves before he even died tbh

Victory lap was a definitely a moment in the culture before he died
Rap Niggas was pretty big i feel

he honestly was in a tough spot tho

he had one of the last pre covid smash singles and when rockstar was hot he probably should've dropped an album then but people might've took it as overexposure

but if late at night came out around like valentines day of last year and the album in like april he would've been straight

Sounds like he was in a good spot then

nah just that even 14 years into Drake's career he's still putting more music out than guys like Roddy. Same with guys like JID, a lot of these guys act like they deserve to be huge whilst not really putting the time in to collab a lot.

How the f*** has he fallen off?

less people are listening to rap + he's putting out less catchy music. same as how migos fell off

  • Never really got into his music but he was one of the hottest out. I really doubt he “fell off”

yea NIP had mad love in LA

same with drakeo and I didn't like this nigga that much cuz he sounded more Detroit than LA.
