Acid Rain as real as it is it also is pretty dark even in sound (to quote ye about “vibrations”)

Like take summer friends from Coloring book, that’s pretty much the same subject matter as acid rain but it’s not as outright traumatic in a way, if that makes sense.

But they was speaking they realities on the music and you walk away from an Outkast album feeling good, more open minded, and probably relating to a lot of the themes

And I'm not saying positive music has to be all about positive "Everything's great!!!" and can't have any reflection of past traumatic events or hardships.

Like I'm saying coloring book is a positive album, and he reflects on those same things like angels is bout dead friends in Chicago, he talks about his addiction and other hardships on coloring book as well.

I just think there's a clear difference in how those themes are delivered on acid rap and coloring book. There's an underlying mood of sadness in acid rap that isn't the same in coloring book

I think part of this discussion is you can just tell acid rap compared to coloring book where bro was just in a better headspace but was still covering real s*** as well.

The album isn't good and it's easily the worst of his career but it was never as bad as most made it out to be. A 3, maybe a 4 on its best day.

Shooting 6 for 23 is of course not great but there's a recently released 23 song album that couldn't even manage half of that!

Because Chance doesn’t have a problem with weed, he still smokes weed so I don’t think its something he views as a negative

A song about smoking weed with your homies is positive to me thats a good thing to do. I can maybe see if Chance came out and renounced weed how it isnt a positive for him but I dont think that song came from a bad or addictive place

Also sadness isn’t negative, sadness is a lot of the time how we reflect, grow, and comes from a place of empathy or positive conscious usually and Id say that’s definitely the case of the sadness on Acid Rap

I think you’re equating positivity and happiness and I just don’t view it that way. I view positivity as something that has a positive effect which I feel like Acid Rap does
