Canadas safety net isnt terrible. Due to the lack of public housing, theres services that will cover part of your rent and s***.

like if I know I have a house and food maybe im not gonna feel the need to work a minimum wage job at target but I'm still gonna want to work and earn money and get a nicer house and buy an iPhone or whatever

im just more likely to work a job that lines up more with my interests and skills even if its a lower paying job or harder to obtain
