I just turned in my final thesis paper for my masters accounting capstone class and I’m finally done with college forever.
I am sad that I’m leaving the town I spend almost 8 years in I am also so depressed knowing that I spend 8 years living alone and now I’m going back to live with my parents
My parents are open to me going anywhere I want but it’s easier said than done. I also know so many friends that have their masters and still struggling to find a job or working making $18 an hr.
School is really a trap fam. I know like 5 dudes with a full college education still living with their parents cause they still can’t afford to live alone.
On top of all this I met this gorgeous girl who is moving to Houston, while I’ll be stuck in Illinois in this cold ass weather searching for jobs and s*** i haven’t been this depressed in a while man
Bro shouldnt you have an easy time finding a job with an accounting degree? And why don't you just search for a job in Houston and live near your goddess {no pics but 10 threads bout her}. I wish you the best bro you may see light at the end of the tunnel.

Bro i have been applying and I honestly have no accounting experience besides college course work so no company wants to hire an I experienced guy and then when I apply for basic accounts payable positions I come off as to over qualified man
Also I just met her a month ago and this girl is going there for some writing school cause she wants to be an author and right now is only signed up for a semester. I’m not about to move across the country for someone that might not even stay there

Was gonna go back to college next semester but this thread got me thinking being a dropout isn't so bad. Don’t you gotta do a bunch of internships in your field first in order to secure a job
I had the same realization years ago that a degree’s only purpose is for people that are going to work under someone else or for a company that doesn’t belong to them. The wealthiest people I’ve met and talked to are all immigrants without degrees or Americans that didn’t go to or finish college

Straight fax bro my brother graduated from the top engineering college in the country with a bachelors and masters in civil engineering and had a good job initially but found it very time consuming and boring so quit and couldn’t find anything better after that
A degree is just a piece of paper these days. Connections is more important than even experience because they train you in everything
i can't find a job
Same bro all this education for what :( I know mfs I that have a hs degree living better than me :(

Pretty much. I’ve found that summer internships are a must if you wanna have a good shot at getting hired right out of college.
Op you could def find a job for at least 20 an hour with an accounting degree. Just gotta keep applying

Damn hats off to him bro that’s a gnarly ass accomplishment but yeah the education system is very flawed for the majority of students and the odds stacked against them

Jesus christ dog. I know people at target making $15 an hour.
You have a masters degree. Look for work everywhere. Take different types of accounting jobs
Get your CPA or whatever and handle a rich person's accounts at a lower rate than usual
I know people with associates degrees in the medical field making 22 an hour.
There's definitely something you can do with a masters. S*** teach if anything
