Also toxic masculinity, or b**** tendencies s*** like that all that is just really echo chamber s*** that we get in doses on an everyday basis. Nothing is truly purely toxic or b****y, it’s sort of like communism it’ll never truly succeed on its own so we live in a capitalist system of gender roles that majority lines of thinking oppress smaller ones.
Nah if i would it would be much harsher
We cool, point there, we agree OVERALL
(+ English like my third language)
Well that last point it makes sense, don't worry bro, people are just have a mob mentality right now. It will pass.
Yes. And I'd recommend the documentary "I Am A Man: Black Masculinity in America" to get a very in depth look at how it affects black men. If not that, then I recommend the book "Cool Pose".
Like if you're big guy, small, or whatever people like to attach their ideas of what you should be like to you.
Stuff like 'straight acting' is a thing which some guys like and others don't. The fact it even exists as a thing is dumb IMO.
Interesting, sad to see. Almost like a character you have to act out.

Adding on to this, "The Mask You Live In" is another good doc along these same lines
It's not gonna go well but u be askin
U gotta have some type of test in rl to find your way
They will always exist and are needed for certain situations like
Lower pay jobs, conflicts/wars
There needs to be a dynamic when you are born to learn both ways so you can choose
By toxic masculinity only existing makes it wrong and unfair to treat gay people like they are not normal
But by not existing - u can only get a "soft" generation
Im catching flack for this crazy
You can have all of this with standard, healthy masculinity.
There are plenty of challenges in life to strengthen the spirit of men in any generation without the dangerous fractured sense of self that toxic masculinity promotes.
This goes for straight or gay men.
Idk anyone that doesn’t think it’s real. It’s severity is different depending on who you ask but I do think it’s a pretty severe problem for some men. Some dudes are super caught up in their masculinity. It’s performative bullshit half the time too. Your actions shouldn’t be dictated by how you feel you’ll be perceived but a lot of dudes really stress that s***
imo masculinity goes hand in hand with being responsible, owning your s***, and being able to lead. I don't see how that's toxic.
if you're referring to dudes who hit women and start street fights, that's so far removed from what a masculinity should be. lets call it what it is, anger and violence issues and not masculinity issues.
"masculinity goes hand in hand with being responsible, owning your s***, and being able to lead."
You know those things aren't exclusive to masculinity correct?
Mostly those people don't understand certain s*** they're toxic about
Also white toxicity and black toxicity differ a lot with only some some overlap

Of course
But WE know that
Tell that to the random toxic dude on the street
Ain't think it through
Toxic masculinity def exists within the gay community and it's kinda weird/funny in a twisted way to see
Yup. Look up masc4masc memes n s***
Interesting, sad to see. Almost like a character you have to act out.
Yea, it's pretty unhealthy imo. Also annoying when some guys I talk to question if I'm really into them or just curious. Because apparently i act 'straight'.
Even tho i'm out and about with them
The "niggas" are in here
"masculinity goes hand in hand with being responsible, owning your s***, and being able to lead."

I'm strictly speaking in the context of a "masculine man". Those are the traits you would associate one with.
Or would you think masculinity is associated with spinelessness and failure to take responsibility in life?
In another context you can totally be responsible and not be a man. Never implied that was exclusive to masculinity

I face the same thing because of my physique/lack of a lisps at times and some clothing choices
Perfect example if u wanna do more research into toxic masculinity is elliot rodger
That Dude was FAR from masculine, he was just full of himself because he thought he would get b****es cuz he had money.
He clearly had no social skills to interact with women which made him rage and do what he did.

Because toxic masculinity is a separate thing than masculinity in it self
That kind of violence is included under that umbrella and often stems from the twisted sense of superiority that men feel they have over women which is absolutely in itself masculinity that has gone to toxic levels.

want to elaborate on this? (im white btw)
