we can do better lads
together
Which is corny, and once again shows people lack nuance, not everything is black and white.
yup, people want to boil these complex topics down to simple answers, it just doesn’t work
Men are brought to not express their emotions like women do, which would be fine except those emotions are practically non-existent, anything other than anger is considered "girly" or "acting like a woman"
and im not denying thats facts. hence why were on a kanye forum. where 808s is his top 3 on a good day
that is a bad trait of toxic masculinity
just curious what are the good traits and why should men portray them rather than other genders
somewhat relevant
I was watching this tour of an architects apartment, and people in the comments were saying this what a modern man should look like. Intelligent, soft spoken, and understated.
What are some of your guys favorite positive male role models? Either IRL or in media.
What bothers me the most about toxic masculinity is not only about it working towards women, but how us men are expected to fit in that box by the society

name some names brother
One problem I have is how often everything that is just simple male behavior (like a handshake or dap) is seen as toxic masculinity.
I don't want to hear a woman's take on what being a man is, because who am I to say what a woman is
Don’t know how to read the bit at the bottom in black so not sure if that adds any context, but this struck me as really weird.
Have heard criticism of handshakes as being culturally insensitive (e.g. some Muslim women don’t like to make physical contact with men) but never heard them described as an example of toxic masculinity. Is this a common opinion?

Idris Elba

Men are born protectors of the family home.
Strength, courage, leadership,
whilst toxic masculinity is generally termed to mean men dont express emotions
its also a movement to demsculize men of other traits. as expressed above
You're a special kind of ed if you think is masculinity is an inherently male trait
Like it's not 1649 anymore lol
Idris Elba
Top tier choice as far as I know.
Looks like a twink in the thumbnail

!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFu7zE9DnRAMen like this have existed for years, Stephen hawking, bill gates, Einstein, jfk, James Baldwin weren't toxic, chauvinistic jocks but rather well educated well spoken men.
Also, Malcolm X went from toxic behavior to a revolutionary, smart, well read, well spoken man.
