So they raped women and children, often extra maritally, but you can guarantee they drew the line at homosexuality because of Christianity?!

You can rape, murder, pillage, steal, and lie, but draw the line at eating pork because the religion prohibits it. Sodomy was an actual crime in the past and it was easy for society to accept because most men aren’t gay so they have no desire for it

That’s actually not true, their Christian homophobia wouldn’t let them. Doesn’t need to be either because horsewhips and regular rape of black women was already bad enough on their own

Lol @ because they were Christian they wouldn't engage in homosexuality

A*** s***was a literal crime for centuries so it stopped them, not from happening at all but at least from being common place

Yes, there was a lot of cannibalism during slavery. Even Native American academics have written about it too.

Enslaved people and Native Americans were at points eaten by the White community.

    Whites. ..... Ate us ?

Religion can easily stop you from doing something you didn’t want to do in the first place yeah. Plus it’s just as demasculating to rape the strongest mans wife in front of him, so why they not just do that instead

I didn’t bring up a*** s***being a crime to say it was illegal to rape slaves, I was bringing it up to show the attitudes towards homosexuality at the time. I mean you could argue that rape was a crime yet they raped female slaves, but it’s clear that gayness was taboo on a different level at the time

That’s true but given the context i think it’s very naive to claim that this never happened, with their supposed Christian beliefs as the only evidence

“Well known for touching boys too” you mean white Americans or ancient people who have nothing to do with this country

Christians aren’t “well known for touching little boys” unless you mean the catholic priests, which was mostly secretive and not what they were really known for until the last century, even if they’ve been doing it for way longer than that. There are people all over the world that have a history with touching little boys so I’m not sure what you’re getting at

So why are we going to write off that these things didn’t happen just because “they were christain”

Im not saying this never happened as in no male slave was ever raped, I’m saying buck breaking as it’s described wasn’t a commonplace actual practice. And once again, it doesn’t need to be because American slavery was already horrific enough on its own

Because Christianity is one of the main reasons why sodomy was illegal in the first place. Under Roman slavery, yeah you could expect a lot of the black male slaves to be raped, but changing societal norms meant the white men were almost entirely interested in the black women only
