“Something you didn’t want to do in the first place” also I wasn’t saying that gay rape never happened, I was saying that the society at the time wouldn’t have allowed regular and public gay rape to be an acceptable thing

Well, i dont feel Society at the time would have taken notice because it was happening at the slave owners premises and not on a public stage

    Yes.

Nat Turner was skinned, eaten, boiled into grease and his skin was made into purses. This is said in multiple slave narratives + the person who skinned him was so proud of it he wrote about it in his own obituary.

And it was called "Nat's Grease". Recently they might have found his skull, so his descendants might be able to put him to rest in a decent place but they've never found his body because of what they did with it.

The Delectable Negro goes into this.

I cant even put into words what im feeling reading this s***

More importantly, is the fact that the pracitice in question isn’t substantiated by any actual proof, meanwhile there’s historic evidence for other ways in which male and female slaves were sexually abused by their slaveowners

If you really want an idea of what was going on during slavery in the Americas (not just the U.S.) I would suggest looking into slave narratives.

Finding out they turned Nat Turners dead body into grease and ate him was deeply disturbing.

Can you link to some of the narratives?

That’s actually not true, their Christian homophobia wouldn’t let them. Doesn’t need to be either because horsewhips and regular rape of black women was already bad enough on their own

Christian homophobia is a public front. Doesnt change what happens behind closed doors.

Yeah I feel you, but it’s weird that people have to make up fantastical claims about slavery (and history in general) when the truth is actually just as bad, just in different ways

sadly yes, and the slave owner used to rape the most masculine male infront of all the slaves to assert their dominanace and insert a faith of even more hopelessness into the slaves.

it's painfully depressing that people went through this.

Twitters bad thing honestly and it’s annoying. I said this a lot about the first campaign for trump. The facts about him were bad enough people didn’t need to lie and exaggerate s*** feeding the fake news meme

I read a piece about Christianity on how it was forced/brought onto to slaves from slave masters hoping to keep em more under there control. I never really thought to much about that aspect, but it’s crazy how sum like that works. The way the pastors or whatever told em to obey there masters so God would reward em is some serious BS

But I guess at the same time, god might’ve gave em strength and hope to escape/runaways

A lot of very interesting stories, appreciate you puttin me on bro
