I finished Cowboy Bebop last night, basically a year after my last anime (NGE) and the genre is a strong 2/2 for me now. One thing I really like about both shows is how relatively short they are (but maybe this is more common across the genre than I realize). I do wish I could watch something that wasn’t so male audience leaning though, so maybe that could provide for a more specific recommendation? What’s a good anime in general to move on to? But also, what would be a good anime that is told from a more female perspective too, if possible?

I’m going to look up the other suggestions (and put them on a list), but this might be the one I try next!

Alright, well I'll give you some shows with female leads and/or is female audience leaning since nobody else wants to I guess.

    Hibike! Euphonium
    Love Live! School Idol Project
    Revue Starlight

Of course there are the classics like Sailor Moon, Revolutionary Girl Utena, and Cardcaptor Sakura as well.

    flcl
    kill la kill
    gurren lagann
    black lagoon
berserk 1997 (the movie trilogy is pretty good too imo)
    GITS 1995 & SAC

    are all worth watching

out of all those, black lagoon and GITS is probably the ones for you if you want stronger female leads. maybe FLCL too.

also do yourself a favor and watch the bebop movie. the NGE movie rebuilds are also pretty good imo but hit or miss and the final installment is (probably) releasing next year
