facts all the characters look way too cartoony to me they took away the details like edwards hair texture and they even made scars story more cheerful. how is he a free man at the end of brotherhood after all the soldiers he killed? him going out as a martyr and making the philosopher stone in fma was more fitting

I was always meaning to come back itt, tbh I wasn't expecting so many responses since my request seemed so generic, but I'm glad to have so many recs! It makes me a little more excited to continue to explore anime seeing how many different options there are

There are some other interesting options, but I was little biased towards to the shorter series and one's that people described as being most comparable to what I mentioned in my original post. Particularly, stuff like Steins Gate, Alchemist Brotherhood, Death Note I've seen mentioned a lot even before I got interested in anime, so I imagine at some point I'll give them a shot

Are progressive and alternative worth a watch? Flcl the only anime besides dbz I really f***ed with

neither are on the same level the OG was. kinda felt like a cash grab. but with the legacy the OG had it was never going to. there is thankfully a convenient way of explaining it (the show grew up with the viewer) but yeah.

alternative > progressive tho. alt was pretty good on it's own merits.

you know, I did end up watching this over the summer and it did become just about my fav anime (though Baccano! and Mushishi are also up there). Unfortunately, still waiting for the FINAL season to premiere lol

you've seen Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, right? and Yu Yu Hakusho? those are all up with AoT in S-Tier anime

oh for sure, start with Samurai Champloo and Trigun since they're short and then get into Yu Yu Hakusho (it's 112 episodes, so a longer haul but definitely worth it)
