I wanna actually keep reading instead of slacking like I did this past year smh
Been doing pretty good taking a book with me helps but wanna just get into it more. Replace pockets of time being on my phone with reading when I can. Trying to balance everything in a day is tough. š
9 of 20 Iām struggling this year iāve gotten halfway through like 20 books and just stopped I gotta problem
Planned to read 40 books this year and I'm currently reading my 35th book.
I discovered KnausgƄrd in January and have been reading all of his novels. The only novel left that I have to read from him is Time For Everything. He is such an amazing writer and deserved the nobel prize imo.
definitely read less books this year than I did last year at this point, but i finished IQ84 so iām counting that as 3
how do y'all maintain your attention while reading? my attention span is so f***ed post covid man can't sit and read a book to save my life

Turn off everything electronic
Isolate in a nice quiet place inside or outside
Pick up a book you're really interested in
Read words

Shut off any group chats or notifications or anything like that
Put your phone in another room if you have to
The only way to improve your focus is by getting into the habit of doing it. It will be hard at first but after a few weeks if you keep at it you can probably get through like 50-100 pages daily (this is the case for me, I am a slower reader too)

thanks g
Need only a couple more books to finish my challenge.
Last week I havent been reading a lot, too tired and I don't have the concentration to read. No idea where that is coming from. Sometimes I have this for a couple of weeks and after that I randomly get back to reading every single day like usual
Slacking a lot. Started the year really strong, I havenāt finished a book in a few months.
Finding it hard to find something that really captures my attention at the moment. Iām mostly just a Classics purist so Iām a bit of a fussy reader
Reaaading soooo sloooww; only averaging 10pg/ day with novels. It's cuz im reading in spanish but goddamn won't hit my goal this year of 25 i tihnk. I'ma try my best
Takes me like a month to finish a novel but in englsh it would take me a week. insane.
I had never set a goal so I decided to ten, but I'm already at 19. I'm gonna set a higher goal next year fs

Find a book you cant put down to help form the habit. Once you read that itll be a lot easier to read books that are less constantly engaging.

Been trying bruh cant find one
I made a goal for 20 books for 2022 and I expect to pass that.
more importantly, I want to start taking notes while reading, like doing little sticky notes markers for memorable quotes or ideas that I want to come back to.
Also want to throw some more nonfiction into the mix, don't know what yet but i didn't read any nonfiction this year so I want to change that.
I did not achieve this lol
