Diddy didn't really do anything for years, I don't see how what happens to him will affect anything

In my opinion, the artist that will change music next are still developing and are too young n fresh to compete with the legacy rap acts who wouldve usually been replaced by now.

  • Nov 30, 2023

I think we see real progress in rap in about 2 years.

he's got a lot of power in the industry, and the recent testimonials from his ex bodyguard are hard not to believe

Like getting super in to music and really diving into s*** like lyrics, imagery, meaning, technical aspects of the production, etc is seen as some nerd s*** now and it’s cool to turn your nose up at that type of s*** in favor of some rage/trap s***. It’s in a similar vein to how niggas act like Pac was overrated.

Like if you make a thread on a meaning for a song and it’s not same face value s*** 100% you’re gonna get some “nigga needa take his meds” type s***. Like it’s cool to be ironically stupid

This is not a MONOCULTURE thread (that conversation is so f***ing tiring at this point). This is more so about the industry itself...from the recent Diddy SA suits, to the lack of gatekeepers, to the ever-growing amount of celebrities who have Peter Pan syndrome. How can the next generation of rappers flourish and experience some form of longevity when the industry seems to be in shambles rn?

Very obvious answer is to stay indie
