I'm actually starting to dislike the whole AI thing because I'm noticing a lot of the people using the AI to create songs, majority seem to be doing it for rappers/rap music. With the belief that because rap "takes no talent or effort" you can just replace all the artists with AI and labels can "save money".
It's just something nasty about these nerds coming in and literally acting as vultures and poachers and stealing/recreating artists' voices to make some extremely generic and soulless music.
For the last few months that I've been following the AI music craze, it's rare that you see the same effort to use AI to recreate songs from white pop stars. I've seen maybe handful of AI Adele and Taylor Swift songs, but they're mostly just covers of one another's songs. While rappers are having whole entire songs created. From the production to the lyrics.
It's just gross and to me I think that there's definitely an underlying racist element to it. And I shouldn't be shocked by it since it's majority white nerds who think very little of rap music who are taking part in it

These tweets touch on the point I'm tryna get at
Using AI to recreate artists’ voices is like deepfake p*rn, it’s absolutely disgusting and needs to be illegal.
People forget that these artists we love are real human beings and not just song machines. I’m sure no one on here would be okay with a robot recreating their voice and saying things that they never said themselves
If that s*** was heat I'd be too busy getting jiggy to care
Not to mention it would be the only competition I'd have
MFW I get caught enjoying this Falling Back feat. The Weeknd AI remix:

How dare they rob us of this
i think it’s fire. niggas don’t wanna drop music? bet. i’ll just make an AI album. somebody fell off? (ie Chance, Ye, Cudi) i’ll just make exactly what i wanna hear from them
many internet illiterates
Well of course it wouldn’t. Cause you not an artist lol
Sure but also because the consequences of AI in other areas scare me more

Respect you outright admit you’re a s***ty human being
Honesty’s one step towards growth.
Fortunately, the rest of us aren’t so…yeah. Thats why we dont view this the same.
🤨 I wouldn’t describe myself as a s***ty human being. Yes, there’s a disconnect between the artist and the “real” person. But I think “shitty human being” is going a little far.
jfc
what the fans can create? they're not creating anything.
typing "drake sings justin bieber baby" is not creation.
We learned nothing from Terminator smh.

I enjoy the potential future where we can make the albums we’ve always wanted from our favorite artists
But I totally get why someone would take umbrage with people using a machine to imitate everything about their artistry

I agree.
Why is it "wrong" for me to "create" what I want to hear instead of being spoon fed what I'm given?
As long as I'm not selling it for commercial usage, but for my own enjoyment, who is it really hurting?
I honestly don't see anything wrong with this.
As long as it sounds good to me, I don't care.

You actually bumping AI music tho?
That Drake and weekend song is so ass lol
The only thing that’s been remotely good is the covers, it’s interesting to hear what a song would sound like if someone else was singing it but all the original music is the equivalent of fan made album covers, the people using it have no taste
