Smacked VoodooI'm actually starting to dislike the whole AI thing because I'm noticing a lot of the people using the AI to create songs, majority seem to be doing it for rappers/rap music. With the belief that because rap "takes no talent or effort" you can just replace all the artists with AI and labels can "save money".
It's just something nasty about these nerds coming in and literally acting as vultures and poachers and stealing/recreating artists' voices to make some extremely generic and soulless music.
For the last few months that I've been following the AI music craze, it's rare that you see the same effort to use AI to recreate songs from white pop stars. I've seen maybe handful of AI Adele and Taylor Swift songs, but they're mostly just covers of one another's songs. While rappers are having whole entire songs created. From the production to the lyrics.
It's just gross and to me I think that there's definitely an underlying racist element to it. And I shouldn't be shocked by it since it's majority white nerds who think very little of rap music who are taking part in it

Why is it "wrong" for me to "create" what I want to hear instead of being spoon fed what I'm given?
As long as I'm not selling it for commercial usage, but for my own enjoyment, who is it really hurting?
I honestly don't see anything wrong with this.
As long as it sounds good to me, I don't care.

The hype behind the AI just reveals what’s already been known on this site which is that a lot of y’all don’t really love music like that. Just see it as an algorithm of numbers (e.g. like most people in the chart thread)
Which is fine. I just don’t like when folks just won’t admit that (which is why you gotta respect op admitting he dont really care about artists)
The thing is, there are a lot of artists on this site that do. And the prospect of a dead man’s voice (especially a dead black man’s voice) being used for posthumous purposes, is really really really f***ed up. Especially in a landscape where artists already can barely make money as it is.
It’s funny when you consider these AI voices will never 100% get the cadence, accent, or the natural colloquialism of the rapper right. Thats why every kanye song sounds like him if he was type Putin. And this is just those “how to rap/produce like insert rapper” videos by those creators that usually make a bare-bones impressionistic take on an artist but can never get by on their own merits.
But more importantly, yall be flooding music sxn with the s***. Like @ShintaroKago said just have an ai section and stay there

But you can’t make what they make idc if you have their voice available, there’s much more that goes into music. We’re fans, we should stay in our place. If you want to make music you want to hear then make your own music

The only thing that’s been remotely good is the covers, it’s interesting to hear what a song would sound like if someone else was singing it but all the original music is the equivalent of fan made album covers, the people using it have no taste

Dude, like I've said, I'm not using the music for commercial usage. It's just fun to have alternative versions of what could have been. I don't see how that's hurting anyone. Y'all are making this way too deep.
I'm just listening to what sounds good - TO ME. If its AI - cool. If it's the real thing - cool.
