There's a Surah that keeps me grounded on what you are saying.
Ash-Shūrā 42:8 in the Qur'an states "And if Allah willed, He could have made them of one religion, but He admits whom He wills into His mercy. And the wrongdoers have not any protector or helper."
To me at least, it reminds me that while I do have faith that Islam is the correct path, the Qur'an itself is a confirmation of previous scriptures so I have to respect those who do follow those religions until the line is crossed and I have to defend my beliefs, but since I am not as well versed on the Qur'an since I reverted just last year, I try not to get into those conversations because I do recognize that I have the tendency to think that everybody else is wrong and can be uber critical.
I guess self awareness is the biggest things. I hope this helps?
I think my issue is that while I do believe that Muhammad was the final messenger of god, that doesn’t mean that I never doubt or that I always agree with everything I read in the Quran. It makes sense to me that Islam was an update to the Abrahamic scriptures that came before it and a further explanation of gods will. Its hard to figure out how I should proceed spiritually though because people act like if you accept Allah/Jehovah as god then you have to accept all of the teachings in their respective books completely.
There are parts in both the Quran and the Bible that talk about how to go about the treatment of enemy soldiers wives & what is permitted and not permitted, among a few other things that are iffy for me or that I have questions on. Another thing I struggle with is how it feels like I’m not allowed to question any part of the doctrine of either belief, even though it’s been thousands of years since both have been established.
I'm not tryna insult any believers or anything it's just on how we need to move forward together religion can only divide people based on some books wrote 1000 yrs ago like that's ridiculous bro
Why do I gotta follow something that is a millennium before me it never made sense to me neither christianity nor islam or whatever other

If you do become Muslim are you gonna make your future wife/wives and 9+ year old daughters wear hijab or not?

I mean yeah. The women on my fathers side wear hijab. It’s about respect. I have a Muslim father and a Christian mother.
When I said wives I didn’t mean your own wives, I meant there are scriptures that talk about taking enemy soldiers women or straight up killing in the name of god. And I’m cool with all that cause i believe in what I believe in, but for me to act like that isn’t questionable at all doesn’t feel honest.
Some examples I’ll give you:
numbers 31: 17-18
Surah An-Nisa Ayat 24

I got banned for going "off topic" in the Ukraine thread for saying the Tajik and Iranian dictators are the longest running next to Putin.
Then Putin visited both Tajikistan and Iran the next week lol. So I emailed and told em look wtf haha
I wasn't going off topic, I was predicting the future lmao
The Bible is a random assortment of stories pretty much untraceable in origin. (Bible meaning the present day order and presentation in form of Christianity’s scriptures).
It’s been altered, change, and in unison has never been codified and kept the same from beginning to end
Copies from the Quran from the 8th century have been DNA tested and the book has been confirmed by experts to have been exactly the same since it’s inception to the present
Just on that surface level, islam has a higher merit
you have absolutely no idea what the f*** you're talking about holy s*** first of all, go ahead and link me this """"""source"""""" im very interested in seeing this one

I think he is talkin about the Sanaa manuscript that was discovered in the 70s in Yemen.
That script has variations to the uthman Quran anyway

Since your father is Muslim you are already a Muslim. And as a Muslim you gotta stick with being a Muslim so don't worry about it.
I don’t believe in the trinity, it makes no sense to me that a man could be the equal or son or personified form of God. I believe god can work through people and use them to make his will known, such as Muhammad did. so it makes sense to me that Jesus was a prophet ordained by God in a similar fashion which is basically The Muslim belief on Jesus.
And I do believe Muhammad was the messenger of God, one among a larger group of prophets that proceeded him, like jesus.
It just makes no sense otherwise if not, that one man could establish such a large religion and explain the message from god/God’s will and not be someone divinely inspired directly by god. The Quran is beautiful and I feel it’s authenticity when I read it. I also feel that same authenticity when I read from the Bible as well. But I don’t believe any document is infallible, that I can personally endorse every single line of doctrine in it. It feels like that may be why I’m at a spiritual crossroad.
the overarching point of the trinity is through the spirit/soul/holy spirit whatever name you want to deign it is that they are all one... differentiation is an illusion, things can be different and yet the same only through the spirit, this is very rudimentary theology
that's not even getting into the whole notion of God's divine presence within its creation, this would literally include Jesus under it as he was divinely synthesized

Anything you find iffy with the Quran that you have questions about I guarantee you can find those answers by speaking to your local sheikh or even just looking into the tafsir for the verses that don’t make sense to you. I can’t speak for the Bible but I imagine you can do the same at your local church
All ima say is it’s not recommended for someone to interpret the Quran on their own. Knowing the context for when and why a verse was sent down to Pbuh makes a world of difference.

It is also recommended to avoid reading translations. You only gain 'Savab' (brownie points) if you read it in Arabic.
