So what’s you’re solution then? How does a local pizza shop become exploitation free?
Simple, by collective ownership by the workers of said pizza shop.
Doesn't mean small business owners still not capitalists, they still exploit their employees, but the difference in outcomes when a small business vs a big business is looted is obvious.
But small businesses getting collectivized too
But you have to be mindful about the messaging when talking about small businesses tho..
They must all perish in fire
Yeah bro let’s take your one example and apply it to all. And no billoin dollar companies exploiting their employees for 12$ an hour is exploitation not a good comparison
I am actually taking both of my experiences with small businesses. I did not make $12 an hour either. I made $45,000 a year as the customer service manager. One of my best friends was a part owner of the company and even he would say he would not work for a small business again.
Right, and so how do they profit? by paying their employees less than they produce, hence exploitation.
Let’s just ignore all the work that owners of small businesses put in because they get more money than their employees (as they should)
Eh this is too black and white though. Running a business from the ground up is so risky and different from a company that is already here making billions lol.
I'm trying to work for myself, and that is technically a small business as well.

Sorry, nothing entitles you to exploit others. sad, i know.
The answer is simple. People simply don't see small businesses and corporations as the same. Owning a small business is more within reach to a lot of people while being an owner or CEO of a large company is not. They have more compassion for small businesses even though they aren't that much better and sometimes are even worse than large corporations.
I worked for a small business, helped build it up, and after covid we went under because the businesses we worked with all shut down. I had 350+ of pto and our owner who would often say I was like a son to him and did this whole family s*** when talking about our workers did not pay us out our pto. Personally I would never work for a small business again, but I understand why people think it's different from a company that is publicly traded.
This is true too. I technically work for a small business, but the work load is so s*** lol
1. How much ownership?
2. What happens to their piece of ownership when they leave the shop?

you can have a small business and not engage in exploitation
Right, and so how do they profit? by paying their employees less than they produce, hence exploitation.
Exploitation carries subtext of it being unfair. If a store pays a wage where they can be comfortable that is also below how much they produce, would that still be exploitation?

lmao what? everyone has ownership.
2. uhm it goes away

Dude I did the work of three to four people lol. I got paid $45,000 a year and it was still not worth it.

Yes, that is literally what exploitation is.
you can have a small business and not engage in exploitation
That's true and I agree. I'm trying to figure that out on my own from my experience working in the white collar world for 3 years now.
lmao what? everyone has ownership.

I’m saying what percentage of the business do they own?

tell me about it
I’m saying what percentage of the business do they own?
The workers own 100%
Sorry, nothing entitles you to exploit others. sad, i know.
Not exploitation
