Genius actually has a licensing deal w most big music publishers so most artists do get compensated. Hence why most lyrics there are transcribed by labels. And if they're not covered, artist can work an agreement if they want

i think lyric booklets could be the new physical packaging we are all looking for

    it would emphasize the
    importance of liner notes

and would be a great way to have a physical representation of the album since we all listen digitally at this point anyways

Honestly wouldn't have an issue with Mach not dropping his lyrics if the nigga actually properly and clearly mixed his vocals with his f***in beats. Lotta times I genuinely have a hard time hearing what he says on his s*** cause it's lost in the beat. How you charging damn near 700 bucks for ya albums and it sounds like you recording on a cheap ass mic and mixing your s*** in Audacity?

it’s art mf you wouldn’t get it

What is the gimmick with Mach-Hommy?

charges stupid amounts of money for his music

    rarely does streaming releases

    takes down old videos

    no social media accounts

formerly part of, then beefed with, now linked back up with griselda records

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Mach and Fahim. The genius is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Haitian Creole most of the bars will go over a typical listener's head. There's also Mach's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Jacques Roumain literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these raps, to realise that they're not just poetic- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Mach & Fahim truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the poetry in Mach's existential catchphrase "Wap Kon Joj!," which itself is a cryptic reference to Félix Morisseau-Leroy's Haitian epic Plenitudes. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Mach's genius wit unfolds itself on their ears. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Mach & Fahim tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎

Genius fell off can’t front. Sometimes they have 5 lines out of an entire record annotated. They should pay fans to transcribe their favorite artists lyrics especially if they keep up with that rapper and know their personal stories told in the music.

if you look at the astronaut in the ocean on there the only line that's annotated is "swimming in a pool Kendrick Lamar uh" lmao

but that's probably because the entire songs lyrics are completely meaningless

Or it could be that his vocals are just genuinely getting drowned out by the beat and other effects such as producer tags that randomly drop throughout some of his songs.

Couldn't possibly be that. It's just the usual "KTT complaining about mixing!" Whenever a valid criticism is made about an artist that people like.

Fahim is like RZA (as a rapper) imo, his rapping is raw as hell and he's a good feature artist but when I try to listen to a solo project by him I go zzzzzz
