Yea but Justin Timberlake type singers?
I’m not saying they aren’t super producers I’m saying the era after them was the super producer ERA
yeah bro Puff produced entire Mary J Blige and Faith Evans albums, Co-produced Usher debut, produced a lot of songs for TLC, Jodeci, Mariah, etc plus his own albums and his work with Biggie, HOV and Mase which were huge crossovers, not just hip hop.
We’ll get another super producer era when you can hear a beat and know who produced it
super producer =/= really good producer u personally like
But are we measuring on amount of songs produced or just the high status they achieve
i.e Zaytoven / Madlib do entire projects for rappers and still hold weight and legacy to this day
is it the fame they get or the amount of beats they make
Nobody clamoring for a Pi'erre beat
yeah they just get a discount pierre to remake his s*** cus they can’t afford the real one lol
niggas calling OZ n wheezy super producers
i’ll keep it real i’ll let wheezy get called that because he’s just way too good and need to be praised for his work fr
we’re just in this more fast paced era with millions of songs at our fingertips it ain’t the same
yeah they just get a discount pierre to remake his s*** cus they can’t afford the real one lol
okay okay bruh people said this 10 times already in the thread aight
we get it pierre made waves
That's like trynna to take away from Miles Davis because he didn't work with singers.
Pete Rock's resume of Biggie, Rakim, Nas, Jay, Big L etc etc. the innovations of sound speaks volumes of itself.
I’m not discrediting Pete Rock by saying he’s not the same type of producer as Neptunes and Timbaland
I’m not saying he’s not a goat bc he is but he wasnt part of the era of niggas constructing an entire record to give to artists
He’s a legend for different reasons on some hip hop s*** bc that’s what type of producer he chose to be. Like his sampling techniques for example. Neptunes and Timbaland werent known for their sampling at all but that doesn’t mean they aren’t as talented as Pete Rock either
The producers from Brockhampton should bail on that s***ty group, they are too talented for those trash rappers and mediocre singers.
I dont think they can become mainstream figures but they can definetly produce classics, they can be the true succesors of The Neptunes and Kanye (at least quality wise).

bearface an ill producer i wanna start listening to him but i’m afraid of being underwhelmed
I wish Tyler would produce a little more for others cuz he could do it
Imagine if he took 2 years off just to produce hits for other people
nobody in real life likes those trash ass beats he be makin

Those beats changed my life

idk about Bearface production but Romil, Jabari and the other one are great, some of their Saturation beats sounded like prime Clipse production
For example this beat is great, sounds like HHNF but those verses besides Ameer

it’s crazy i just never been on the BH wave except wildfire
it just wasn’t ever my specific thing

You right Dre and Puff were the catalysts for the era I’m discussing but at the time they were in a league of their own
In retrospect yea they’re super producers which is why they still put in work throughout the 2000s but again P and Timbaland were making full pop records consistently. They DOMINATED in that space which puts them in a category of their own
Hence why it was called the super producer ERA when they came along, not when Dre and Puff were doing it in the 90s
Nobody clamoring for a Pi'erre beat
u probably stan 40 or boi 1da lmao
with their generic ass beats
it’s crazy i just never been on the BH wave except wildfire

the rapping is forced most of the time, Saturation was ver well received because we didnt kknow the members irl, they turnt out to be ktt nerds and outcasts capping on the mic besides Ameer and they kicked him out
this was insane when I didnt know the members personalities irl
