You’re the one playing dumb acting like drag queens have 0 to do with sexuality

There’s no way you can fully shield your children from s*** like this, they will learn about it with you or without

Straight men dress in drag too. It’s just playing dress up to kids. Don’t get the big deal

I've worked a few drag shows as a bartender, wouldn't let my child go there. Don't really see what I can do to avoid my children knowing what they are, given how ubiquitous they are, but I imagine it's the same as a child knowing what a burlesque dancer/stripper/whatever is: knowing what it is prob isn't a big deal, so long as they don't attend the events associated with it.

You should definitely have discussions on safe s***with your kids. S***ed is so poor, and with bans on abortion if they aren’t wrapping it and aware of the risks they are going to just play into the child labor breeding plan that conservatives are pushing. They just expanded child labor laws in Missouri. They are trying to force people to increase the population of the lower classes to create more workers.

They don’t have anything to do with it. What we choose to sexualize is the problem. We are supposed to be past just assuming that being a woman is sexual.

In some countries like the UK, drag has long been a part of family entertainment, pantomime dames (men in drag playing female characters) have been a part of festive performances for years

That being said I probably wouldn't take my kid to a drag queen story hour, mainly because I'm a good enough storyteller and would want to bond with my kid over stories, dumping them somewhere else to have someone read them stories just feels lazy to me, the drag aspect doesn't bother me but I also don't see what it adds in that situation, but in no way would I want to hide the concept of drag queens from my kids

Yeah drag is ubiquitous in our television

Men dressing up as women due to budget or comedic value is so normal to us tbh

I knew who RuPaul was for years growing up and never cared to check into the drag scene until I could drink.

Why would children be at a bar at all?

That's disgusting wtf, that's honestly depressing, damn yea imma definitely street them away from doing too much s***stuff early, mainly just by making sure they being productive and having good friends etc

as user said on page one, 24 years on earth now and i’ve never had drag queens shoved in my face nor ever ran into a drag show that was unavoidable or something. so no i won’t shield them from it because i doubt it will be something that ever brings itself up

  • Apr 19, 2023

what would you consider an appropriate age for this?

5 years old . My little brother is the same age n loves dressing up in mom’s clothing just for funsies and he’s starting to like a lot of different things now and if he wants to watch drag shows I feel like he’d enjoy them so much
