good music videos still get millions of views, as they have before
even more so for hit records
the videos used to reach 500m or 1b views with ease. now most of them can't even reach 100m
They used to look so cinematic 10-15 years ago. Now everything looks like a Netflix show or Sesame Street.
How did we go from this:
to this:
Music videos/visuals are half the art form to me. Don't understand how people don't value them
girl if you dont be quiet and show that hole
Oh wow
used to watch mtv all day before I had internet at home and before it turned into strictly garbage reality tv I'd catch myself watching f***ing Flavor Of Love cause there was hardly any actual music and that's around the time I just cancelled cable tv forever
It’s more if the labels dumbass fault for overpaying for s***, gettin taxed or just straight up rippin theu artist for they advance lol
1. Spotify and Apple Music need to make an effort to become the new prime YouTube/VEVO
2. The artistic meta of music videos needs to be upgraded and re-legitimized ie Billie Jean-Beat It-Thriller
3. More music video worthy music needs to be made
There are exceptions with #3
I made 3 music videos this year tryna restore that feeling
I remember when I was a kid I was watching music videos all day on the tv. People would vote on what video to play next with their phone
Good music videos don’t come along often anymore.
Lots of artist sees them as content and will only do 1:10 minutes videos because data shows that people shuffle along after that.
Music videos often take away from the music for me
Especially for rap songs, they usually dont match the aesthetic of the song.
Last Music Video I watched and remember is Otis. Used to be hyped for a MV but don't care no more
Depends on the song though. And yeah not on tv no more that's a dying trend, but if people like the song enough you can get millions, in rare case billions of views over some time, which yields income. And come to think of it, whenever a popular song comes out, it's official video always has more views than it's official audio version on YouTube.
Because music video tv show countdown type s*** dont exist no more
Easy fix but the way capitalism works I aint finna say it for free
The music industry is one life support right now. Award shows aren't hitting the same anymore, music videos numbers are tanking and labels are using bots and playlists to inflate their artists numbers like never before. S*** is cooked.
