I’m only halfway through the book, and Paul and Jessica have really grown from the beginning, so I agree, that seems like an odd complaint lol. But definitely on the world, I love how they’ve built it so far, I love the politics of the houses, and excited to see how the book ends.
I’ve already copped books 2 and 3
Been meaning to check it out for years, absolutely surpassing the expectations I had.
It seems like Star Wars lifted a lot from this book as well
Took me a minute to finish book 2, I got busy lol. But damn that one was much shorter and easier to breeze through once I got rolling. The ending was wild. I really didn’t see some of those events unfolding the way they did. On to book 3.

yeah that’s exactly how I felt about messiah. Kinda slow until the ending but it’s short so it was cool. It sets up the next book perfectly too, which is wild all the way through.

I’m excited to get started on that one, I’ve heard good things about it so hopefully I can get some free time to breeze through it. Have you read all of them?

Just the first 3. Waitin on God Emperor to come in at my library
time jump from Paul joining the freman to his unborn sister suddenly becoming a full grown kid with abilities.
lol trust me it took me by surprise
kkkkkkk so at first i hated this,
i wanted to continue what paul was doing and keep my 'knowing'
BUT then i remembered why i liked DUNE, so much, we were just immersed. Given no background ionfo, or even definitions before words were used half the time, which made you constantly discover this new world around you while reading the plot going on.
after that, messiah was instantly more enjoyable
Children of Dune was quite a journey. I really enjoyed it, maybe more than the first two, although they’ve all been great. It definitely took a turn once Leto fused with the sandtrout. Not sure when I’ll start book 4 but I’m anxious to check it out, bc the whole last half of 3 was just a whirlwind with Leto becoming a living God and controlling everything.
Just finished Dune and it was amazing. Book Three: The Prophet was easily some of the greatest storytelling I’ve ever read. I’ve never been so immersed in a world and invested in characters in my life.

reading messiah im like 30% through so far im enjoying it quite alot, it feels way smaller in scale somehow but at the same time its building the world even more
it feels very depressing though, even more so than the first
Just finished the first book in time for this Friday's show. Really enjoyed the world building and detailed writing describing everything from the land, to the people and their clothing.
I am intrigued to see what I thought the parts in the book look like with the movie. Already picked up Messiah, looks way shorter from the size already tho
