why
I was reading the pre-socratics and plato and a lot of the important mahayana sutras at the same time, then I started reading a lot of short stories after that and was writing a lot so I didn't have time. Then summer hit and I was busy working and moving and then when I came back to my hometown I had lost my reading habit and only just now I'm getting back into it. Just read some kirkegaard this week and I'm working my way through a sapolsky book rn

I'll suggest you to take one of those and give it another chance. They are very dense and heavy so reading three per time would be very difficult to digest. Also consider finding them with a guide or sort because patronyms f***ed up by Demons read (wasn't a fan of the book even for other reasons but still...)
Will try The Idiot later.

have you read any of his short stories
Yeah, quite a lot.
Got a book from him that’s only short story’s and novellas
Also if you haven’t read Poor Folk read it. His debut novel, and it’s a great read.
I lived in russia for about 5 years when i was a kid so i can still understand russian. Finally found C&P and BK in the original language and will start reading them when im done with exams, probably gonna be dificult af for a non native speaker
I read my first Dostoevsky book, Notes from the Underground. It was a difficult read and honestly not an enjoyable one. I think it's something I'll need to return to after reading more of his works.
I know everyone says read Crime and Punishment after Notes but I think I'm gonna give The Brothers Karamazov a go first.

I'm only on book 1 of The Brothers Karamazov and I already like it more than notes
Just started reading The Brothers Karamazov.
Read some short stories, Notes, C&P and The Idiot from Dostoyevsky before. Wasn’t sure if I should read Devils now or TBK, but TBK it is now.
From Friday 3 weeks off so plenty of time to read, but I didn’t want to wait until my vacation starts so started today already.
