Artists like Pooh Shiesty, late Pop Smoke, and Durk's second wind after years of limbo are indicating a shift in direction of hip hop back to the streets compared to the Soundcloud era of 5 years ago.
What will happen to guys like Playboi Carti and Uzi that popped from the previous era? Do they still fit in today's climate?
even though wlr was a decent album, ultimately it was a missed opportunity that didn't resonate with the masses. uzi's last album was another missed opportunity because he tried too hard to impressed old heads that focus on bars over melodies, and that s*** backfired. with that being said, neither are of them are going anywhere soon.
the trash artists will sink to the bottom and people with lasting power will evolve same as always
Uzi one of those rappers everyone enjoys to some extent + he works with street rappers so he will be fine. Carti still has his mysterious white fanbase separate from hip-hop.
Who the f*** is sofaygo
Carti can fit the street field if he wants like how he did/has a bit before.
I dunno bout uzi tho. Think he's far past the "All My Chains" Uzi, aka best Uzi.
