@02Shaq Naw it definitely is a thing. It's not hard to tell the difference between a hardcore chief keef song and a pop rap song like Drake's What's Next or Future's Mask Off

The rappers from the soundcloud era largely cant survive this street era, the ones that are have really started putting a focus on their rap ability and surrounded themselves wit street niggas(uzi, yachty, etc.)

That Trippie Carti song wasnt mid it was your standard SC rap affair but it hasnt aged well, no one wants to hear rappers wit dye in their hair lie about what guns they shootin

If not the lyrical street rap route the only other way for them to survive is to embrace that MGK brand rock s*** but completely lose their black fannases
