Street rap has already taken the crown back. Look at the next generation of rappers. Its almost all street rappers.

It's too early to say that. The upcoming gen of street rappers aren't selling big numbers yet. The wave could die before it goes further

Its not. Lil baby, Youngboy, Rod wave, Roddy Ricch, Polo G, and Dababy are the most popular rappers from 2017- now.

For better or worse rap will never leave the streets

street rap has been popular for ages though. there will always be other sounds that'll prosper, it's not like only one thing is popular at a time.

Street rappers are still doing monstrous numbers, even after years of artists the bigger artists like Dababy, Lil Baby, Kodak, Youngboy and Durk.

There's Pooh Shiesty, Moneybagg, Pop Smoke, Big30, Fredo Bang, Polo G, Rod Wave, 42 Dugg, Morray, Scarr, Foogiano, and many more to name.

It's been like this for like 2-3 years now with the newer faces, but I don't it slowing down anytime soon.

  • May 11, 2021

I think street rap comes and goes, it saturates easily but everyone f***s with it

  • May 11, 2021

Also pop smoke relevance is way bigger than just "Street rap"

Bro made it cool so Americans would do UK drill

Pop rap is still running s***. Is that hard to understand? Lol
@Niggamortis Street rap isn't putting up numbers like pop. We'll see if the street rap wave can continue it's run.

    What’s pop rap?

Rap mixed with pop elements. Usually "trap" made by mainstream rappers like thug, future, etc.

it's not hard to understand those rappers come from a different era and the current crop of rappers represent the new era of fans. Yall dont like listening.

Okay and pop rap is still dominating regardless if there's a new era or not... The street rappers make pop rap too. Lil Baby's biggest song is literally Drip Too Hard

I don't listen to polo g but he's a pop rapper if his music matches those criteria.
