That thread came off as bootlicker-ish tbh
Imagine thinking it's bad that people are able to WFH and still be able to pursue interests, have more time with their family, not dedicate their life traveling to and from work, etc
I'm assuming you are young and fresh out of college, in your first semi-corporate to corporate adjacent job, thus lack real world experience and have "wide eyes" to corporate culture.
If you don't like WFH 5 days a week and want to work in an office and do a job can do comfortably from home, that's fine, but there's no reason to want to force other people to do that as well.
The only potential "downsides" to WFH is (1) lack of human interaction, as you said, but that can easily be remedied by doing other things after work and on the weekend, and (2) health issues, such as not moving around as much as you normally would, which could also be remedied by taking walks.
I WFH 5 days a week, make a great living, and love it. And it's pretty cringe to be against it. Working against your own class interests is never the move.
Also, interacting with your coworkers in person is not a real social interaction. Get a life. Get actual friends.
Dude was projecting like crazy. A lot of us saw first hand due to Covid how work can maintain the status quo while being remote. Doesn’t make sense to force people who have proven they can do their work at home to come back into the office if they don’t want to
I mean working from home all 5 days is kinda cringe
I worked from home 3-4 days a week and it gets tiring. I think 1-2 WFH is cool but anymore and the social aspect kinda sucks
Ppl gonna say “lol being friends with coworkers” but yeah we’re social creatures and I work with 90% women. You don’t want me to interact with them?

Why is it cringe though? Unless we are defining cringe differently
It more-so sounds like personal preference.
I personally love WFH full time. I wake up right when work starts, don’t have to drive through rush hour, get to take walks around my block whenever, eat whatever I want at home, spend time with my fiance when she’s working from home (she only does a few days a week), have all my personal entertainment to supplement my work day, etc. I’m saving on stress and money
To me, it seems cringe that a boss would force people back to work when the job is very obviously able to done at home
Not gonna front I tried it and almost got depressed knowing I wake up instantly in my Job that s*** not for me but won’t knock it for somebody else that wants it that way
I envy you WFH motherfuckers.

Yeah part of me appreciates physically separating home from work, but at the same time being able to be “clocked in” and just doing chores/relaxing at home is enticing
The issue with wfh is classism. People who work at gas stations construction etc. Wont get the benefits of wfh, and wfh jobs generally pay better too. It reinforces a dynamic of classism
Imagine being able to work and home school ur kids with ur stem degree. Life is a walk in the park. Vs the dude who cooks at a restaurant and has no upward mobility for him or his family
Previous OP has severe brain damage. Never gonna catch my ass willingly working in an office again

Wouldn't call it cringe. Should be a choice as you enjoy it but others don't. End of the day if the job gets done then no one should complain

I get it because I feel like that sometimes too, but it really helps having an office. I don’t work anywhere I leisure or sleep. I have a separate room solely for work. So it really helps

Interesting take
I do sometimes feel bad for people who don’t have the option because they work retail/service, but I think a lot of companies are opening up entry level work with remote jobs, so there are a lot more options available now a days than there used to be

Yea its not intrinsically a bad thing, but it should be done in a way that doesnt disadvantage people who dont come from good families

Hybrid model. Cant be completely wfh, too isolating imo

Some jobs inherently cannot work from home. That is not a class issue that’s just the reality of your situation. Not sure I get the point you’re trying to make here
