But anyways yeah West is best been known
yeah it has been that way since roughly 2013 idk why there’s still so much dispute around trap becoming it’s own sound when that was made clear so long ago lol
Trap is Gucci Mane, Dolph, Jeezy, Future (especially before 2017), Yo Gotti
Go argue with ya momma
literally came here to say DS2
savage mode definitely up there too, the albums metro produced in his prime are alll immaculate production/engineering

i never implied that those guys aren’t trap…
if Rodeo is trap, then More Life is grime because it features some artists from the UK
that’s literally how far you have to stretch to call Rodeo a trap album
not exactly lol. grime is a genre derived from uk garage/2 step
y'all keep throwing names out here but u not saying why the mixes are good
Look up Alex Tumay and his work
not exactly lol. grime is a genre derived from uk garage/2 step
yes, that’s my point
calling Rodeo trap just because there are artists who make trap music featured on it makes as much sense as calling More Life grime because Skepta is featured on it

trap does have its own sound, but if you make that style music without being a trapper/without rapping about trapping, that’s not trap music, that’s music inspired by trap music
but either way, like half of Rodeo sounds nothing like trap music, and the other half only does because there are actual trap artists featured on those songs
y'all keep throwing names out here but u not saying why the mixes are good
you asked us for examples & reasons
people provided examples & the engineers responsible for those mixes
did this help?
Anything trap mixed by Alex Tumay, Bainz, Seth Firkins, MixedByAli, KY, Keisha Lee and Jaycen Joshua.
Not because they are "trap engineers" but great engineers in general
@op this the real answer

Half of the niggas you'd consider trap artists talk more about using d**** then selling nowadays Yall niggas push this definition but trap has moved beyond that. S*** 21 never talk about selling d**** but yall would consider him trap. Majority of Rodeo is heavily trap inspired down the drums idk wtf u listening too

People be defining genre solely by production it’s crazy
I’ll always say rodeo has trap production (some of the best ever) but to call it a trap album is such a stretch
Do you mean the cleanest mixed trap album?
That's a significantly different question than best mixed trap album.
I don't think clean is what's best, I think what's best is what conveys the feelings in the rough the best, and that varies from project to project.
!!!!!!!
Very serious
Not to resurrect a 4 year-old discussion, but there's plenty of flaws in the mixing.
Crazy sibillance on drake's verses on sicko mode
Annoying pop on stargazing (which mike dean claims was intentional. Great, it intentionally sounds like s***!)
this weird pitch correction artifact on "stop trying to be god"
Nav's verse on the OG mix of Yosemite being buried
I think the use of clipping is cool on the album, but there's lots goofy stuff going on too

TI said on “The Weekend” that Trap Music doesn’t always have to be about the trap or trapping, as long as the person making it came from the trap
Travis Scott was literally raised in the suburbs. the producers & the features on his songs are the only parts of his music that have anything to do with the trap, and that’s still not even most of his music.

the “Seven Rings” argument makes the most sense to me when talking about what trap music even is. “Seven Rings” features trap production & flows you’d typically hear in trap music, but it is not a trap song by any definition of the term. same applies to Rodeo.

That’s my point though. 21 ain’t ever sell d****. The migos are from the burbs. Don’t matter where you’re from. Most modern trap artists talk about doing d**** more then selling anyway. Rodeo is heavily trap inspired and uses more trap elements then any other genre in the album. Trap music ain’t about just saying you trapping no more

Do y’all consider the Griselda niggas trap artists? They talk about trapping on boom bap beats. Cmon now y’all…
