My Turn is a classic album so this argument is just untrue
It really isn’t.
Classic case of rap albums now. Could be really good if it’s 10/12 tracks long.
Goes 20 plus and just becomes boring.

Not really, if u look at the impact it had, the longevity it has (that album is still pulling good numbers week after week after 4 years) and the reception and love it got.
Its the definition of a classic.
Im about to write a lot of text but i want to say that his first day debut stream numbers arent that bad
16 million spotify streams vs 21 Ms for Its Only Me but that one has 8 songs more, thats a lot more tracks
Ok I will be waiting.
Everyone in mainstream rap outside of a few select dudes is making basic background music that only marginally makes you nod your head and any superlatives beyond that is because everyone else is gassing some s*** up and you don’t wanna look out of touch. Alternatively you inexplicably don’t feel anything they do once the larger zeitgeist say they fell off. Everyone an NPC now.
Carti next when Music drops then Veeze this fall. Niggas dont have no taste and tbh the deeper rabbithole is that 106 and park and magazines and s*** played that role in prior generations, now its just “the timeline”
This is real af. This is what happening with Sahabii rn.
His album is very good but they starting to gas this nigga like crazy. The moment he doesnt drop what the people want they are gonna start hating on him like they always do
Ok I will be waiting.
Just wrote a lot lmao
U can see that not only im bored, im a big fan lmaoo

My turn will eventually be a classic album bro. You gotta remove the bias and realize just how impactful that album has been and still continues to be to this day. Plus it’s quality. Dope hooks and verses, dope features and dope music overall.

Impact how? If you’re talking just America then I’ll take your word for it but rest of the world aren’t seeing this album as a classic.
I don’t even see how it’s even considered one. There’s nothing outstanding on here, just an over auto tuned voice with lyrics that have nothing to say over trap and 808 beats. It’s s*** we’ve heard for the past decade.

My turn is def a classic and if not one yet will 100 percent be on in the future. Not sure how you can even argue against this when the impact is still being felt right now. Quakity hooks, songs, features and beats.

Like I said previously I’ll take your word for it in America. I don’t see how this album gets put up in a top 100 greatest rap albums of all time.
I think people need to realise what they really love as an album doesn’t equal to a classic.
I love Culture by Migos but it’s not a classic album. I love Rodeo by Travis and that is a classic album.
What’s some good ATLANTA underground? @insertcoolnamehere
Kenny Mason 4 president.

A great feature artist, but not a standout lead. His music tends to be repetitive, with similar flow, production, and subject matter across tracks. His lyrics lack the depth to fully capture our attention. While it’s all about the production, it just feels outdated.
That’s why when he made that BLM song people were like oh s*** he can actually rap about something substantial. In short, there are other lifestyle rappers who are simply better.
My turn is good but gets gassed up a little too much so people over correcting now saying his music is trash, he fell off etc

I agree, people talk about My Turn like it’s College Dropout or GKMC level and I’m always confused as to why.
he trying new flows but the beat selection
hustle music just don’t hit the same during the times we in 2020 is over
Cap
Yall just ain’t give it’s only me a chance
That s*** easily washes wham
its only me is definitely better
it was overhated from the jump, probably because it was at the peak of lil baby fatigue and admittedly was a huge step down from My Turn
now that the narrative has been against lil baby for a while, i think everyone came into WHAM with lower expectations and with an open mind
It's Only Me is WAY better.
I actually think It's Only Me represents where he should of went with this Wham project.
IMO if you listen to records like Real Spill, Not Finished, In A Minute, Everything, Danger, Back and Forth with Gee, just slaps where he's rapping and getting his s*** off.
He's not really good enough or compelling enough of a song writer to be 'versatile' or try to go beyond the aforementioned kind of songs. Easy, fast paced slaps that are easily digestible by most. He gets in trouble when he tries to do things that aren't really in his wheelhouse.
This s***s on most if not all of Wham

recently hes tried different sounds and you can tell hes trying to appease to the "switch it up" crowd but thats not how he should go about it imo. make music for the people that like your music. like imo i dont care if all of it sounds the same if it slaps every time
spot on

The most overrated thing a musician can do is “switch it up”
No one truly wants that especially from someone who has a specific skill set and that’s not just rap, it’s all forms of music
The consumer wants what’s familiar, they do not want something ‘new’ that’s the sauce

Consumer don’t really know what they want until they want it. Just ride out the dip and refine

Exactly 🎯
People don’t be peeping how that type of s*** influences their opinion
If you go into both projects with an open mind and no preconceived notions It’s Only Me is not only clearly better than Wham it also arguably has some of Lil Baby’s best displays of technical rapping ability to date. You just have to be patient enough with it to follow the flows and schemes and not focus so much on weather or not the songs are as good as the songs on My Turn. Dying on this hill
Wham from a technical rap perspective might be Baby most mid project tbh
Consumer don’t really know what they want until they want it. Just ride out the dip and refine
They don't, and they never did. People think they have autonomy over who they like and what they like, but it's very much a product of conditioning.
Once the public tells you what they like from you as an artist, do not abandon that sound, ride it and continue to give them what they want.
That's why Future is still who he is today. That's why Drake is who he is today. They're versatile songwriters, but they never deviate too far from who they are at their core, and what got them to the plateau that they're at currently.
People assumed his progression would be linear but he regressed. He needs to rap over some new beats. New album has some good songs though. Current Atlanta underground sound is way better than what he’s making
Fr it’s not bad at all and if it was the first thing i ever heard baby drop I’d be like damn but it just sounds dated atp

S***, if anything, Future and Drake dug in even further with their projects that specifically centered on a sound their fans liked, like side a/side b Scorpion or Hndrxx/Future and so on then just rotating the two or combining.
From there, either fans will love it or continue to hate but eventually you wind back up at Life is Good and Wait for U
Genuine question. If you just hate baby you can skip this thread. I’m really interested in hearing from fans who thinks his last two albums or this last one is a disappointment. This was also made because I saw his first day Spotify numbers and I’m surprised.
Most of it just don’t click, it isn’t genuine. People tired of hearing the same thing every album. Beats the same, lyrics the same.
I Promise and So Sorry stand out imo
