I been listening to a lot of 4Lquan, baby drill, lilworld5L, Benji blue Bills, L5, Lil Bigg. Baby Kia’s last EP was pretty good but I’m not up on a lot of his other stuff besides his biggest songs

    you got a playlist?

We’re all looking for the next Drake. It’s not happening. No one can hold the rap game down for as long as Drake did.

Sadly we must admit the rap genre on its own is a HARD game.
    Baby only offers rap.

He might need to hop in his the House or Dudstep bag or sum

Don’t think we’ll see another Drake/Ye/Wayne artist for a long time

Everyone in mainstream rap outside of a few select dudes is making basic background music that only marginally makes you nod your head and any superlatives beyond that is because everyone else is gassing some s*** up and you don’t wanna look out of touch. Alternatively you inexplicably don’t feel anything they do once the larger zeitgeist say they fell off. Everyone an NPC now.

Carti next when Music drops then Veeze this fall. Niggas dont have no taste and tbh the deeper rabbithole is that 106 and park and magazines and s*** played that role in prior generations, now its just “the timeline”

mainstream s*** always sucked compared to the underground

  • Because these artist have no longevity.

  • Mafia Boss

He is on pace to outsell Gunna again.

Okay? Will any of the songs have any lasting power? Let’s see

Gunna had the biggest hit of his career last year

Baby’s biggest song is behind him imo

    Try a month

  • Because he sucks and people are victims of the moment and hype.

I remember my homie picking me up like bro you gotta hear this and he played "My Dawg" I was genuinely confused at what he was hearing lol

the real answer, everyone expects the next massive rapper to be like the big 3 and last 15 years when its a f***ing anomaly

but reality, 99% of massive rappers prior to the big 3 had a 4-5 year run and fell off

what more does everyone expect from lil baby? he gonna go down as the top 5 most streamed rappers from his class, he did massive things for a solid 5 years 2017-2022 and thats it, thats success

meanwhile same posters cope hard over jay's career who wasnt even that guy for longer than a single year of his entire career

its funny cus 50 went from having the highest career peak of any rapper OAT during 2003-2005, to falling off the face of the earth by 09

  • lacriminal

Even Kai wasn't feeling it that much

    gave that s*** a 6/10

  • Coz a lot of it sounds the same. But he not as interesting or talented as someone like Future to keep people engaged

Hov was solidly that nigga from 97-01

Just because X or Em were bigger at moments dont mean he was just some bum lol

Its Kinda like how yeah Kendrick Drake probably have a little gap over Cole but lets say if Kendrick (Em) and Drake (X) fell off after 2015 then Cole now has had a 13 year run and they didnt lol

personally i would only give jay 99 but he was still top5/top3 for all the years u mentioned, similar to how i would give lil baby 2020 since he ran the year with My Turn, was the #1 most sold album of the year (he happened to release right before covid so it skews things as every other artist didnt drop like drake delaying CLB until 2021). and then the other years in his 2017-2021 run, he was always top 5

but the point still stands most of the rappers from the past had max 5 year runs MAYBE 7 years, yet now all the sudden we expect these rappers to just be on top yearly no matter what or their garbage, instead of just appreciating the work they gave in the 5 years

lil babys run from 2017-2021 was all someone can ask for, stayed on top, ran 2020, and stayed top5/top3 the rest of those years in that range

producing another drake/cole/kendrick that can drop an album and stop time 5+ years into their career is just asking too much, thats just my opinion

has babys music gone downhill now thats hes 7 years into his run? for sure, same way 50's did after 5 years (02 - 07) , em's did after like 6 years (99 - 05)

    i mean its pretty simple

he set the bar high he was rapping rapping when he first blew and had a amazing flow but ya can say its repetitive but i find that hard to believe cos if the music is good wont matter if he keeps using the same flow i mean look at travis lol.

i think hes just hit a creative wall. cos the music just isnt as good as it used to be
